JBC is sponsoring the IPC Hand Soldering Competition at SMTA Tabletop Exhibition 2018
The competition will take place from 14th to 15th of August at the Eastin Hotel in Penang (Malaysia)
The reliability of electronic equipment is ensured by zero-defect soldering processes. This contest recognizes the best skills in hand soldering complex printed board assemblies.
Who is the best of the best in Malaysia? If you think you have what it takes to be a champion of hand soldering, then bring your skills to the IPC Hand Soldering Competition at SMTA Tabletop Exhibition 2018!
The competition will be held during SMTA Tabletop Exhibition 2018 located at the Eastin Hotel Penang, Malaysia.
Over two days, participants will compete against each other to rework a functional electronics assembly within a 45-minute time limit. Assemblies will be judged on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610G, IPC J-STD-001G, IPC-7711/21C - Class 3 criteria, the speed at which the assembly was produced and overall electrical functionality of the assembly. IPC Master Instructors will serve as judges.
Prizes
Cash awards will be given to the winner and two runner-ups.
The winner will receive one Solder Station from JBC and also get the chance to compete at theIPC World Championship at IPC APEX EXPO 2019, San Diego, CA, USA on January 29 - 31, 2019.
IPC reserves the right to select participants and final explanation.
