The contest takes place on January during the Space Coast Expo & Tech Forum.
JBC is a main sponsor of the 3rd Annual Soldering Challenge at the Space Coast Expo & Tech Forum, which will be held in Melbourne, FL on January 18.
This contest will recognize the best skills in hand soldering. The challengers will be assigned the task of building a standard IPC mechanical sample circuit card assembly, using current soldering methods and materials, within a specified time frame.
Experienced engineering staff from Harris Corporation and Career Source will serve as judges and the contestant with the most and best looking solder joints based on Class 1 IPC-610 inspection criteria would win.
Participants will be presented with different prizes ranging from a Large Screen Smart TV to $100.00 gift cards.
